Description: Black pepper is known as the King of Spices. India contributes about 25-30% of the world production. Among which Kerala accounts for over 94%, Karnataka 6%, Tamil Nadu 6% and Andamans contribute to the remaining. The export quantity in 2006-2007 was 28,750 MTs.

Harvesting Season: December to March

Uses: It is used to spice almost any meat or vegetable dish. It is used for pickles, seafood salads etc. and beverages and in the plantation of preservatives. It has high medicinal value. It is used as important ingredient for skin and body care. It acts as an astringent, lightener and toner, activates blood circulation and stimulates follicles.
