Description:
Jowar, is well suited to grow in many types
of soils and weather. It can be grown in
harsh environments where other crops grow
or yield poorly. They can be grown with
limited water resources and usually without
application of any fertilizers or other
inputs. It is widely used in Maharastra,
Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, mainly for making
roti.
It provides Protein and Fat than any other
cereals and is also a rich in leucine. This
grain is considered a healthy addition to
local diets.
